So here I am at work, and I've decided to start a blog. Of course, there won't be any pretty additions or images since I don't have access to anything but what's here.
I'll be honest and say that I'm not sure what I'm going to blog about...soaps, wax, or books. Maybe I'll use this blog for books because the title was inspired by reading. I might start another blog about handmade body products and wax. That way everything is separated and everything has its place.
I've been reading quite a few YA books lately, which is something new for me since I always stayed in the mystery section of the bookstore and library. I've thoroughly enjoyed this change of pace. It's brought me to a whole different world that I didn't pay attention to before.
Reading has always been a way of escaping the world around me. Just like TV used to do until reality TV came to rule. As the title of this blog indicates, there is a world underneath the one on which we stand. Or maybe it's one that is above as we sail away on the words of a book. Wherever we're taken, it's a world that let's us be whom we want to be, go where we want to go, and dream above and beyond anything imagined.
So reducing all that rambling to this...YA has become a new escape. I can't say that it's my only escape. I still enjoy many other genres, but it's a new escape. I can't wait to share with you all that I've been reading and thinking. Stay tuned!
